Makita is adding two rolling toolboxes and a compact accessory case to its MakTrak modular storage lineup, with each rolling cart rated to hold just over 250 pounds (114 kg) and the accessory case up to 75 pounds (34 kg). SlashGear reported the additions, which are compatible with existing MakTrak products.
What the New MakTrak Cases Hold
Both rolling toolboxes have a telescopic handle, a padlock point, and a hidden GPS tracker slot. One opens from the top with a removable lid, tray, and divider. The second opens through the front rather than the top and has a single drawer that locks to stop it sliding open during transport, a design that lets users reach the contents even when other boxes are stacked on top.
The accessory case fits up to six Makita batteries and a charger, with internal dividers, a removable tote tray, and a pull-out handle. Makita has not announced prices, launch dates, or U.S. availability. The only official announcement comes from Makita's German website, according to SlashGear.
Makita launched MakTrak in 2024 with a horizontal layout that gives users access from the top of a case, a design suited to transporting in the back of pickup trucks. The two new rolling toolboxes resemble the vertical cases from other brands' modular storage systems and complement the only current wheeled base, which is for a horizontal setup.

Makita sells products in approximately 180 countries through direct subsidiaries and distributors, the same records show. Consolidated revenue for the fiscal year ending March 2026 was JPY 777.6 billion, with non-consolidated revenue of JPY 467.7 billion.
