## Inchydoney Takes Europe's Leading Island Resort Title

Inchydoney Island Lodge & Spa received the Europe's Leading Island Resort 2026 award at the World Travel Awards ceremony in Montenegro on October 17, 2026. The resort had been named Ireland's Leading Hotel 2025 at the previous year's World Travel Awards. The property sits between Inchydoney's two Blue Flag beaches, just outside Clonakilty, and has welcomed visitors to West Cork for more than 25 years.

Owner Des O'Dowd said: "To be named Europe's Leading Island Resort is an incredible honour for everyone here at Inchydoney. Following the award for Ireland's Leading Hotel last year, to now receiving recognition at European level is something we are enormously proud of." O'Dowd also said the team's warmth, care and commitment are at the heart of the guest experience, and that West Cork's coastline, food producers, craftspeople and community make the award one the whole team can share.

The World Travel Awards recognize excellence across the global travel, tourism and hospitality industries, with voting involving travel industry professionals and consumers. Inchydoney champions local food provenance in its restaurant offering, sourcing ingredients from producers across the region, and features Irish art, furniture and craftsmanship throughout the property. The resort continues to invest in the guest experience while remaining rooted in its location and character.
