Canton Fair Launches Buyers Alliance of 58 Companies as 140th Edition Opens

The Canton Fair Buyers Alliance launched on October 15 at the Canton Fair Complex, with 58 member companies from 32 countries and regions across 5 continents, according to PR Newswire. The launch coincided with the fair's 70th anniversary and drew more than 140 overseas buyers to the ceremony.

What the Buyers Alliance Offers Members

The alliance is designed primarily for Fortune Global 500 companies, buyers from the world's top 250 retailers and leading sourcing enterprises across a range of markets. It aims to give members a platform for information sharing and resource coordination. Through the alliance, members gain access to priority benefits spanning four areas: services, events, resources and information.

Luís Vilariça, CEO of Joinco, Import & Export, Ltd., spoke at the ceremony about his company's long-standing relationship with the fair. He reflected on the growth opportunities created through cooperation with Chinese suppliers and highlighted the fair's role in supporting international business development and global trade exchanges.

Alliance members issued a joint declaration at the ceremony. Representatives from five member companies read the statement in their respective native languages, and additional members sent video congratulatory messages. The first cohort of 58 companies spans 5 continents.

Earlier Canton Fair Programs This Season

The 140th China Import and Export Fair opened in Guangzhou on October 16, 2026, marking its 70th anniversary, and released the documentary "Chasing the Light" to commemorate the occasion, PR Newswire reported. The session runs through November 4.

On October 12, PR Newswire reported that the fair would open October 15 with Fair2Care, an international medical experience program combining on-site and off-site channels. The on-site zone runs October 15-19 at West Hall 1F, covering four themes, while off-site channels offer health management and TCM wellness.

Third News reported on September 23 that the 140th Canton Fair launched a membership program for international buyers with automatic enrollment and a points system.

Fair2Care On-Site Zone Runs Through October 19
