Slack Unveils Work Object Embeds, Bringing Live App Content Into Threads

Slack has launched Work Object Embeds, a feature that opens links from supported applications as live, interactive content inside Slack conversation threads. The company announced the product on October 17, 2026, according to EIN Presswire. The feature works with Amplitude, Atlassian, Box, Gamma, Polly and Sandstone.

How Work Object Embeds Works in Slack Threads

When a team member shares a link from a supported application, it opens as a live and interactive piece of content directly in the conversation thread. The feature is designed to keep discussions centered on the task at hand without switching tabs. Angela Kirchhof, VP of Product Management at Slack, said: "Nobody wants to leave a conversation to go pull something up in another tab. With Work Object Embeds, your apps show up right in Slack, fully interactive, and still under the controls your IT team already trusts."

Users of Amplitude can visualize product and customer behavior data without leaving Slack, hover over data points for insights and ask follow-up questions in the thread. Atlassian's integration lets teams create and preview Confluence pages inside discussions. Box lets users open, edit and manage files within a Slack conversation, while Gamma supports creating and refining decks. Polly and Sandstone cover Q&A sessions, polls and legal requests.

Admins can control access organization-wide or by workspace. Developers can build custom applications featuring the interactive integration. Amplitude appointed Vijaye Raji, CTO of Applications at OpenAI, to its board, according to TradingView, a move aimed at combining Amplitude and Statsig to help teams understand customer behavior and experiment with confidence.

Slack's Scale Behind the Embed Push
