Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy said RVM Constructions submitted ₹25.10 crore in bills to Telangana's present government and was paid ₹20.15 crore, leaving ₹4.95 crore pending. The Hindu reported that the MP, speaking at a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad, said the payments covered about 80% of the bills the company submitted.
Chamala Disputes RVM Constructions' Complaint
Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy questioned the allegations of irregular tender allotments and delayed bill payments that RVM Constructions made in a letter to the Builders Association of India. He identified the company's owners as Nama Ramesh and Nama Vivek. The MP said the company alleged that tenders were awarded to favoured contractors and that bills were not cleared without demands of commissions.
Countering the allegations, Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy said RVM Constructions had undertaken works worth ₹77.08 crore in Telangana since 2017. After the Congress government assumed office in December 2023, the company secured only two works, he said: a degree college project worth ₹8.50 crore and the construction of a municipal building at Andole-Jogipet.
"Isn't it a ploy to discredit the government?" the MP asked, referring to the timing and intent of the complaint. He alleged the company was trying to discredit the Congress government despite receiving a substantial portion of its dues, and referred to Nama Ramesh, whose family name is associated with a former MP from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi.
Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy also accused the previous BRS government of mismanaging the Kaleshwaram irrigation project. He alleged that the Konda Pochamma Sagar project was designed to benefit former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao's farmhouse in Erravelli, that a 58-acre waterbody identified as Panduranga Cheruvu had come up adjacent to the farmhouse from 2017 onwards, and that ₹42.54 crore of public money was spent on a drip irrigation system there with a 100% subsidy.
RVM Constructions' Hyderabad Base
RVM Constructions India Private Limited was founded in 2013 as a roads, bridges and infrastructure construction services provider headquartered in Hyderabad, according to akta.pro company records. The same records list Ramesh Nama as founder and managing director and give a workforce of 501-1,000 employees. The company's own site describes its civil engineering work.
