Peugeot is recalling 1,299 Peugeot 3008 vehicles worldwide, including 68 units in Germany, because incorrectly fitted air guides obstruct the airflow needed to cool the engine and the 48-volt system. The recall was filed with the German Federal Motor Transport Authority as campaign 17142R, according to Autoevolution.
Peugeot's 3008 Air Guide Recall Explained
Two misfitted air guides in the front bumper direct airflow to cool the internal combustion engine of the 3008 and its 48-volt system. Fitting them incorrectly obstructs that airflow, potentially reducing performance. The German authority, the KBA, states the prescribed fix is to remove the subject guides.
The recall covers 68 examples of the 2026 model year Peugeot 3008 in Germany, with a worldwide total estimated at 1,299 copies. Peugeot uses M5W as the internal code for the recall regardless of market. The French automaker does not describe an underhood fire as a potential consequence, and its listing records no known incidents involving property damage or injuries.
The KBA's description of the recall condition does not establish precisely how much airflow is lost. The current-generation 3008 crossover is available with several electrified powertrains, including plug-in hybrid and full-electric versions, and the Hybrid 145 appears to be the subject model. Its 1.2-liter turbo inline-three engine works with a 48-volt system to develop no more than 143 mechanical horsepower.
Owners should not assume every mild-hybrid 3008 built from June 29, 2026, through July 16, 2026, is affected. For the European market, the model is built at the Sochaux plant in France. The 1,299-strong recall population must be inspected by authorized Peugeot service centers, where technicians will remove the incorrectly fitted air guides. The KBA says the stated remedy is only removal.
