The indoor-outdoor facility at the Malvern property includes a hot tub, sauna and cold-water plunge pool, and is believed to be the first spa of its kind on the Malvern Hills, according to [EIN Presswire](https://www.einnews.com/article/950312965/live).\n\n## The Forest Spa's Public Opening\n\nThe spa has been in a soft launch phase for hotel residents and will open to the public from November 15. It includes treatments such as massage, a relaxation room, hot tub, sauna, fire pit and a cold-water plunge pool, with views over the Severn Valley and Cotswolds.\n\nSpokeswoman Beth Harvey said: \"The Cottage in the Wood's new indoor-outdoor spa sees the Water Cure reimagined for the modern day.\"\n\nHarvey said the spa was \"designed as a space to escape from the 'always on' nature of modern life\" and brings the outside in through natural textures, calming tones and spaces filled with light.\n\nMalvern's reputation as a spa town dates back to the 19th century and is rooted in the Victorian Water Cure, a hydropathy movement that drew visitors such as Florence Nightingale, Charles Dickens and Charles Darwin. Drs James Wilson and James Gully created the Victorian Water Cure, which put the hillside town on the tourism map as the birthplace of the British wellness retreat.\n\nThe Forest Spa joins the hotel's award-winning 1919 restaurant, which has become known for its countryside views and modern British menu. The hotel has hosted guests including Joan Collins, CS Lewis and Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts, and is known as a favourite of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.\n\n## The Cottage in the Wood's Wider Expansion\n\nAccording to [akta.pro company records](https://akta.pro/company-data), [The Cottage In The Wood](https://akta.pro/company-profiles/00479qf/the-cottage-in-the-wood) is a privately owned 32-bedroom boutique hotel and restaurant in the Malvern Hills AONB, Worcestershire, operating two dining venues, a spa and curated experience packages. The property sits on 8 acres of woodland and has 47 car parking spaces.\n\nIn 2026 the hotel launched the 'Walk The Malvern Hills' Discover, Dine & Stay package in partnership with Malvern hiking expert Sarah Rousell, and introduced pre-orderable Picnic Packs for Malvern Hills walkers. In 2024 it appointed Silviu Dinu as General Manager.\n\n## What Happens on November 15\n\nThe Forest Spa opens to the public on November 15, following its soft launch for hotel residents.
