Financial details were not shared, [startupticker.ch](https://www.startupticker.ch/en/news/xfarm-technologies-acquires-sibium-analytics-with-blackrock-as-a-direct-investor) reported. xFarm develops software and connected hardware for agriculture, while Sibium supplies technology to the sugarcane sector.\n\n## xFarm's Sibium Analytics Acquisition\n\nSibium's solutions cover about 70% of Brazil's cultivated sugarcane area, according to xFarm, which makes it a leading technology supplier to the sector. The transaction marks xFarm's sixth and its second in Brazil. Sibium will keep operating without interruption while benefiting from its parent's broader portfolio of products and services. The combined offering for sugarcane mills and producers should include xFarm's solutions alongside Sibium's established capabilities.\n\nxFarm said market dynamics and the opportunity made this the right moment to strengthen its presence in Brazil and build a leading position there and in other strategic markets. The acquisition was partly financed through a bridge round with a mix of existing investors, new investors and BlackRock. The company said the deal was made possible by a strategic partnership with BlackRock, one of the world's leading asset managers, which supports the expansion across key markets and value chains, alongside its existing investors. xFarm sees the support as an important milestone and the start of a new phase of growth and international expansion.\n\nThe group was formed in 2021 through the merger of xFarm and Farm Technologies. Since then, several companies have joined it, including Wapi in Italy, SpaceSense in France, Greenfield Technologies in Spain, Checkplant in Brazil and Sibium Analytics, also in Brazil. xFarm is headquartered in Lugano, also its centre of excellence for management, AI and IoT development, and the company says Switzerland will remain a key hub for sensors, IoT and advanced technologies, and that investment in innovation will stay critical. The Lugano office brings together R&D, technology and engineering teams, while teams at the Technopole in Manno build the hardware, which the company develops entirely in-house, from weather stations such as xSense to soil sensors.\n\n\"The Swiss team will grow, especially on the management side, given the various acquisitions we have made and will make,\" says Matteo Vanotti, CEO of xFarm.\n\n## xFarm's Funding and Platform Scale\n\nAccording to [akta.pro company records](https://akta.pro/company-data), xFarm has completed six funding rounds, including a $39.5 million Series C in October 2024 led by Partech, a $17 million Series B in August 2022 led by Swisscom Ventures, and a $910,473 grant in June 2022 led by the European Innovation Council. The same records put total funding at $61.2 million and describe xFarm as operating an independent farm-management information system combining IoT sensors, satellite imagery and agronomic AI to serve more than 600,000 farms, agronomists, cooperatives and agribusiness enterprises across more than 100 countries. The company was founded in 2017 and is headquartered in Manno, Switzerland.\n\n## xFarm's Earlier Brazil and Product Moves\n\nThe same records show xFarm merged with Brazil-based Checkplant in March 2025 to enter Latin America, bringing local field-management and monitoring distribution for Brazilian farmers. In December 2025 it launched xFarm Agent, a WhatsApp-integrated AI virtual assistant for farmer support, voice and text activity logging and Digital Field Notebook compliance ahead of Italy's January 2027 QDCA mandate.\n","publisher":{"name":"News for Agent","url":"https://newsforagent.com"}}
