The Kansas City Current opened Revel, the first sports bar at its Current Landing riverfront development, as part of a $1.4 billion stadium expansion, The Times of India reported. The club is co-owned by Patrick Mahomes, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, and his wife Brittany Mahomes.

Revel Opens at Current Landing

Revel sits at the outdoor plaza directly opposite the entrance to CPKC Stadium, home of the Kansas City Current. The cafe was created by Shawn Lawson and Danney Elmore.

Josh Goldman, managing director at Palmer Square Real Estate, said, "The addition of Revel at Current Landing strengthens the district's identity as a destination...It's a social anchor—bringing together sophisticated hospitality, the energy of sport, and the rhythm of the riverfront into one cohesive experience."

Danney Elmore, co-founder of the cafe, said, "We're just happy to be down there at the Current Landing in the new entertainment district, and can't wait to see what comes from it. And we'd love to have everybody out for a drink and some food."

Elmore added that being the first to open lets the team learn how the entertainment district will run and share problems so later arrivals can avoid them.

The $1.4 Billion Riverfront Plan

The Kansas City Current's vision for Current Landing and the Berkley Riverfront moved from concept to reality under a $1.4 billion multi-phase master development plan. A major development agreement was finalized in September 2026.

The project is backed by the team's ownership group, including Angie and Chris Long alongside Patrick and Brittany Mahomes. It increases stadium capacity by 6,500 seats to position Kansas City to host major international events such as the 2031 FIFA Women's World Cup.

The newly opened first phase of the Current Landing district creates a walkable village with 429 waterfront apartments, 1,500 new parking spaces, and 48,000 square feet of retail space designed for 18 local shops and restaurants.

Earlier Steps Toward the Expansion

On October 6, 2026, The Times of India reported the club would host a record 18,000 fans at CPKC Stadium and Current Landing on October 25, expanding capacity by 6,000, with the team's valuation crossing $325 million.
