Wetzel's Pretzels Opens Inside Worcester Walmart, Its Fourth Massachusetts Bakery

Wetzel's Pretzels is opening a bakery inside the Walmart Supercenter at 25 Tobias Boland Way in Worcester, Massachusetts, the brand's fourth location in the state and the second for the local franchisee group operating it. Yahoo reported the opening, which continues the pretzel chain's partnership with Walmart.

The Worcester bakery will serve customers across central Massachusetts, according to the Yahoo report. It follows the franchise group's first Wetzel's location, which opened in Nashua, New Hampshire, last year, and the group is looking to strengthen the brand's presence on the East Coast.

"Opening our second location is a great next step for our team, and we're looking forward to serving the Worcester community," said Peter Vrettos, a representative for the franchise ownership group. "As we grow across the East Coast, we're eager to deliver high-quality products and memorable guest experiences."

Eric Weigel, Brand Leader of Wetzel's Pretzels, said the Worcester opening reflects momentum the brand is seeing nationally as more operators recognize the flexibility of its concept. The location uses a buildout design adaptable to Walmart's footprint, and the company plans further growth in non-traditional spaces nationwide.
