Splashtop introduced Shield for Business at Splashtop Live, its first branded event series for IT professionals and managed service providers, held in the Bay Area on Sept. 16 and London on Oct. 6. The product blocks more than 80 unauthorized remote access tools while allowing Splashtop's legitimate remote support, GlobeNewswire reported.
Splashtop Live Debuts Shield for Business
Splashtop Splashtop launched the event series in its 20th anniversary year, bringing IT professionals, MSPs, customers and partners together with its founders and product teams. Mark Lee, CEO and Co-founder, said in his opening keynote that AI is accelerating attacks on endpoints and on the people who use them. Microsoft's October Patch Tuesday alone addressed a record 1,400+ vulnerabilities, the company said.
"AI is making attackers faster on two fronts," Lee said. "On the machine side, holes in the OS and the apps are getting found and exploited faster than most teams can patch. On the human side, it's getting much easier to talk someone into opening the door, and if they do it with a real, signed tool, your security stack has nothing to catch."
Phil Sheu, CTO and Co-founder, described how the agent IT teams deploy for remote support now delivers inventory and real-time vulnerability and patch management, with asset and vulnerability data moving next into a single view of each computer. Splashtop also previewed upcoming third-party application management for Microsoft Intune environments. Brandon Shopp, VP of Product and Alliances, said AI turns dense CVE records into plain explanations and flags updates with known issues before IT deploys them, with the administrator still making the call.
Splashtop's Platform and Partner Moves
Splashtop's recent moves include a unified platform with Autonomous Endpoint Management at its core, launched in April 2026, replacing the previous standalone product architecture with a single cloud-native, AI-assisted agent covering IT operations, security, remote support and remote access, according to akta.pro company records. In March 2026, Splashtop integrated its secure remote support into SysAid's AI-Native ITSM platform, enabling AI-driven, ticket-aware remote support sessions. In May 2026, Splashtop entered a flagship strategic partnership with Hitachi High-Tech Corporation and Atmark Techno to extend into Japan's operational technology and industrial IoT markets.
