Sany Renewable Energy announced a 25-year extended turbine lifecycle and a service roadmap through 2030 at China Wind Power 2026 on October 14, 2026, alongside a strategic partnership with JD Industrial. The company said the design-life upgrade starts with its 915 platform.
Sany's 25-Year Turbine Lifecycle and 2030 Service Plan
Sany Renewable Energy said it is moving its turbine design life from 20 years to 25 years, beginning with the 915 platform. Key components are being engineered and fatigue-tested for the full 25-year span, and select 6.X-11.X MW models are already certified for extended life, according to the company. Sany said the upgrade delivers an estimated 56-58% increase in generation profit over the operating period, a 6-7% reduction in levelized cost of energy, and a 0.8 percentage point uplift in project IRR.
The company's service roadmap targets becoming a leading global wind service provider by 2030. Sany said its fault rate is below 0.09 and average recovery is within 4 hours, and it is working toward a self-aware, self-diagnosing, self-deciding and self-operating intelligent service ecosystem with 100% AI digital employee coverage and AI-driven spare parts management.
International certification accompanied the announcement. UL Solutions awarded Sany's SI-17580 model a wind energy certification, and TUV Rheinland issued a design certification for Sany's steel-concrete hybrid tower technology. UL Solutions had earlier certified Envision Energy's wind turbines in Spain and Australia, including the EN-182/6.25MW model for Spanish grid compliance and the EN-182/7.8MW with a 188m tower for Australian type certification, ANTARA News reported on October 5, 2026.
Sany's Serbia Project and Egypt Manufacturing Plans
Sany Renewable Energy acquired the 168 MW Alibunar wind project in Serbia from Nordic developer Emergy in June 2026 through Hong Kong subsidiary Heavy Energy International, according to akta.pro company records, marking its entry into the Serbian market with a EUR 240 million investment. The project comprises the 96.6 MW Alibunar A and 71.4 MW Alibunar B. PowerChina Chengdu was selected as EPC contractor for the project in May 2026.
Sany also signed an MoU with Egyptian state electricity bodies to establish Egypt's first wind turbine manufacturing facility and develop a 2 GW wind farm in the Gulf of Suez, with a two-year completion timeline. In December 2025, Sany licensed wind turbine blade manufacturing technology to JSW Energy, which is establishing production units in Karnataka and Gujarat, India.
Sany's Earlier 2026 Milestones
Sany Renewable Energy showcased its wind turbine at WindEnergy Hamburg 2026, where overseas revenue rose over 300% in the first half of 2026 and signed orders approached 5 GW, PR Newswire reported on September 23, 2026. In June 2026, Sany broke ground on the 168 MW Alibunar wind project in northern Serbia's Vojvodina province, investing 240 million euro ($272 million) in the development, SeeNews reported on June 25, 2026.
Sany's Next Steps
Sany's service roadmap runs through 2030, and its MoU with Egyptian state electricity bodies carries a two-year completion timeline for the manufacturing facility and the 2 GW Gulf of Suez wind farm.
