[Pure Data Centres](https://akta.pro/company-profiles/0007qpp/pure-data-centres) Group has completed installation of the third and final power transformer at its 90MW LON01 data centre campus in North London, bringing the substation's total capacity to 150MVA. The company said the 75MVA [Hitachi](https://akta.pro/company-profiles/00007fy/hitachi-energy) transformer will support power supply to the campus's B1 and B2 buildings, with energisation planned for later this month. The announcement was distributed by [GlobeNewswire](https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2026/10/15/3382011/0/en/pure-dc-s-lon01-campus-completes-installation-of-final-power-transformer.html).

## Pure Data Centres' Final LON01 Transformer

The 75MVA Hitachi transformer is the last major component in a three-transformer installation at the campus, which is designed to deliver closed-loop, liquid-cooled capacity for high-density AI inference and cloud workloads. Dedicated ductwork is already in place for the connection to B2, and once energised the transformer will complete the dedicated power system serving the campus.

Restricted space around the live LON01 substation ruled out a conventional 500-tonne crane, so the project team designed and implemented a specialist gantry system with a lifting capacity of 1,000 tonnes. The transformer was lifted into position in a four-hour operation involving Pure DC's project team, MGE Group, logistics partners and specialist suppliers.

The installation closed an 18-month programme that began with manufacturing in Colombia in March 2025. Factory testing finished in June 2026, after which the transformer travelled by sea to the UK and then to the campus, a journey that required route and logistics planning, road closures and local authority approvals.

## Pure Data Centres' Funding and Campus Scale

According to akta.pro [company records](https://akta.pro/company-data), Pure Data Centres secured $2.7 billion in financing in May 2026, comprising a $2.15 billion senior secured facility against its Dublin and Amsterdam campuses and $550 million in increased corporate-level financing. The same records show the company has over 1GW of capacity live or under development and aims to triple capacity to 3 gigawatts across Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

## Earlier Pure Data Centres Expansion

In September 2026, Pure Data Centres began piling for the second building at its Brent Cross campus in London, extending the site by over 23,000 sqm to reach 90MW total capacity, with the 70MW West Shell due for completion in Q2 2029, Datacenterdynamics reported. In July 2026, the company launched Phase 1 of a 550MW AI campus in Seinäjoki, Finland, a project it described as more than €7.5 billion, Computer Weekly reported. In July 2026, SEGRO and Pure Data Centres formed a 50:50 joint venture to develop a 48MW data centre in Paris, Investing.com reported.

## LON01's Living Wall

After completion of B2, LON01 will host a living wall of over 750,000 plants wrapping around the building to reduce noise and air pollution and encourage biodiversity next to Brent Reservoir's Site of Special Scientific Interest.
